I looked at each briefly and that is all I could muster. Old guy ranting about stuff ... sorry, not my cup of tea.

I started...but was at work and couldn't listen with the boss right there. Dark intellectual humor...something you have to pay attention to. I'll get back to it next week.

I have a hard time understanding the English accent and tried to listen and pay close attention to what he was saying and just couldn't understand. I'd be so screwed if we moved there!

In that point of his life he was in the US, he did originate from Germany so that explains the accent.
But surely it's not that bad? Perhaps you dont hang around many people with accents, I don't know, but what I do know is that his english isnt all that bad aside from the fact he mispronounces a word or two now and again.

Maybe that's the case. The only people here are the ones with a Texas twang/Southern drawl. I'm just not exposed to a variety of accents so my ears aren't used to hearing them. Not only that but the English sense of humor is a little different than American humor.

TBH mate, didn't like it. Clever, but bit too obsure for me.

I am surprised to find a Brother Theodore thread at this forum. He started the dark surrealistic rants sometime in the 50s. There are bits that make more sense and bits that are complete surreal perhaps even dada. You used to be able to get copies of his albums on cd at the great Jackdiamond.com but that site is long since gone as well as Brother Theodore. Too bad. Jousting at windmills is never a bad thing.
