Sometimes I think it would be nice and other times not. With the forum you can think over things and reread and sometime edit what you have done to get your point across better. With a live chat fearture you cannot take back what you've said and I can see something like this getting heated. Forum vs. chat ... I'll go with Forum, however if the powers that be decide to add a chat feature I probably would give it a try at least and perhaps my opinion would change.

Well, if the young folks want to try it...
Personally, I might try it...but I am more interested in participating in the current forum mode...where our contributions don't dissappear. For example, one of my favorite threads was the 'Evil Buddha' one. Would that have been kept if done in IM?

Do you not have conversations in private messages? I certainly due. Then some become ideas for threads later. I never mention names or anything but i will give both sides of the argument.

There is a chatroom on frappr, check the link labeled "Putting FA.com on the map" sticky, somewhere on that page there is a chat, which is usualyl a room with just me in it. About time I got some company. Also, it doesn't work like IRC so I don't know how it would be moderated. http://www.frappr.com/fightingartsthere you go.

the idea came up before in the admin section, I was against it, but technology is inevitable. plus, I was wrong about the 'general' section which has gone over really well.
so why not...bring on the IM ! just think...it would be IMPOSSIBLE for people to change their messages after hitting 'send'. lol
