Doesn't seem that arrogant to me, he always says that he will win before a fight, but every fighter does that. After each fight he compliments the other fighter in some way shape or forum.

He backs up his mouth with skill in the cage so I can't hate him for that.

I think he's a good all around guy. You have to act with some confidence and an almost arrogant air...it messes with your opponent in my experience. He's a great fighter anyway, and can definitely back up his talk as has been said. watch wrestlers they all pretty much walk with arrogance.

you apparently didn't see the last episode of the ultimate fighter. I'll sum up one of the conversations
(the setting is a sushi restaurant where matt hughes has decided to take all of the fighters and trainers. George St.Pierre has been helping these guys train since day one, Matt Hughes is a week long guest coach. GSP is not staying close to Hughes because he knows they will be fighting and doesnt want to get buddy buddy at all)
Matt: Hey Georgie boy, why are you avoiding me? (said with that matt hughes trademark smug grin)
GSP: I'm not avoiding you (said with that "english as a second language" confusion of what is going on)
Matt: How bout we train later, you could teach me something (sarcastic)
GSP: I'll teach you something if you teach me something (trying to salvage something civil out of a confrontational exchange)
Matt: How about I teach you a little arm-bar defense?
That, my friends, is a grade-A, first class jerkface in action.

I think it's more than a little absurd to draw an opinion of someone without knowing him personally.
What you see on TV isn't always real, just like everything in print isn't always true.

How he projects himself is a measured decision. Remember Dana White has dropped people like Lindland for not being 'entertaining', despite the fact that he was winning and a real contender. Hughes gets everyone talking (proved by this thread). I look beyond the smack talk pre-fight, and see how he has his brother in his corner, how he is always gracious regarding his oponent after the fight, and how his skill and toughness have made him the champion he is today.
Does he get in trouble for assaulting police officers in bar brawls (Penn)? No.
Does he lose so badly that he takes a swing at the ref (Baroni)? No
Does he 'dig a grave' at the feet of his still unconscious oponent as he gets medical care (Ortiz)? No
He has been at the top for a long time now, his only real threat, BJ Penn couldn't put him down, and then tore his abs open with the effort of trying to choke him out, and he toughed it out.
I think we might all become a little brash in his position.

I always found him a little arrogant but I cannot deny that he is a good fighter. I did watch this episode and agree that Matt was trying to get his digs in with GSP. I think Matt can be a A-Class A-Hole but so can others I guess.

I agree with Matt Cera he is a typicall jock. Very competitive as he is an athlete. Likes to stur the pot a lot. Very skillful and powerful that goes w/o saying. Seriouly lacks stand up skills in my opinion.
