Capoeira has found a home in Manila!
I just started training about a month ago and I'm 23, our instructor has been training for 13 years, i think he started around age 18 so its not necessarily something you need to start as a kid although obviously starting young will give you an edge.
Its really a physically demanding sport, with constant motion and many of the moves require you having to support your full body weight on your arms. Its a great combination of cardio, strength and flexibility training.
The only problem I have is that my feet aren't very well conditioned so after every session I have great big blisters. The last one was so bad I had to go to the doctor to get it sliced open and drained... I'll be missing the next training session

Anyways, for all you Manila based members check out
