in answer to your questions, I train in Savate, along with a little JKD and Kali all with Ollie Batts at the Cambridge academy of martial arts. i do not train as often as i should, nor do I make any claims to be teh dedly street fighter.
I started bouncing at the Cross Keys Pub, Madoc street Llandudno, in 1991 at the ripe old age of 17. I got the gig via the landlords son, who was my training partner and best friend. We worked the door together and had a lot of laughs and scrapes over the next few years. His dad no longer owns the pub, but he was head doorman of Broadway Boulevard last time i heard from him, sadly, a few years ago.
Aside from the usual rite of passage that comes from youthful poor judgement and aggression, you are right, I have little experience of 'fighting', door work isnt like 'Roadhouse', its about de-escalation and/or removing people from a premises quickly, not slugging it out in the middle of a club/pub.

I know of a splinter art called 'Seidokai ken' or something similar. Thats phonetic spelling, but it is apparently another full contact Karate style from the same heritage as Kyokushin

Right. I 'know nothing', yet have given you specific history of myself, told you where I train, with whom and in what arts. What have you told me?

That you think I know nothing.
That you are unwilling to tell us with whom you train
That you are unwilling to tell us which okinawan arts you train in
That you have heavy hands, but wont let anyone see.
That you believe yourself quite the fighter, are in contact and train with numerous MMA schools as well as trad karate, would happily fight pro at the drop of a hat, but havent the gumption to arrange it for yourself.

please, as someone who has trained in Kyokushin, and knows much of karate, could you actually name 'that art what the main bloke in kyokushin started- the one with the throws n' stuff'. Truly you have a dizzying level of knowledge

I would have to agree. As we all know and respect Cord for his ability, knowledge, and power Andy, you may want to be a little more humble and open minded when sharing your opinion here. Also, it is not a good or smart idea to attack someone who you do not know and who is an established, respected member of the forum when you have yet to achieve this yourself.

Andy, you may want to lose the tough guy act, sit back, and just read for a bit. You may actually learn something. We all have here, just by openly sharing ideas and thoughts. Coming on like a know it all VTG is not exactly appreciated here.
