Keep researching makiwara (including past threads!!!!), its construction, history, purpose, and the mechanics of its use or you hands will absolutely hate you in a few years.

Ah, youth!

"I want it all & I want it now!"

Famous last words!

If someone suggested punching brick walls at full force to achieve your desired result ("hands like "lifeless pieces of cement), you'd probably do it. How about punching the hot side of a steel clothes iron, or the ultimate... knuckle pushups on broken glass.

Remember, anything worth achieving in life takes time. You don't need "lifeless cement hands" next week, next month, or even next year. Martial arts is theoretically a lifetime journey (which has no real end, just new beginnings & new goals & achievements).

Assuming your goal is to reach a shodan or beyond, if you take your time with your body strengthening/toughening (and don't break your freaking body by overzealousness), by the time you reach that goal (years from now) you WILL have already achieved this secondary goal.

By the way, "lifeless, concrete hands" seem like a crazy goal to me. I guess you'll have to get someone else to hold it for you when you pee.

"lifeless cement hands" no one can have that kind of hands , cuz they are not hands anymore

doing push up for your muscles , hitting sand-bag or makiwara for your bones

i have found the best way to toughen my hands up(now this is what worked for me it takes awhile but anything worth while takes time) i started off with gloves on hitting a punching bag and eventually moved on to hitting the punching bag with no gloves on and i continued this untl my knuckles would no longer bleed from punching the bag this may take a couple months depending on the person and after that i moved onto hitting bricks of course when you first start hitting bricks you must always go lightly so you dont injure your hands and as time goes by your hands become stronger and you can put some power into your hits while hitting the bricks. also a good idea while doing each of these steps is to be doing different types of push ups such as on your knuckles, on your fingertips, and on the back of you hands

One of these things is not like the others,

Quote:

Finger pushups are a bit too much

One of these things just doesn't belong,

Quote:

I just want a tool to turn my hands into lifeless pieces of cement

Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

Sorry, just had to do itů

-JBC-

I was the same way (not on the finger pushups)

Your hands still need to feel how could you type or hold someones hand.

1- two kuncles and finger push ups
2- with a partner hitting the forarms , after a year or two ,you will see the result
3- don't forget your shins , same with partner, hit them together.
