I heard Mel Gibson wanted to do a film about the resurrection called " Return of the King" but someone else swiped the title.
Now there's a question... could Gandalf technically be a zombie after his rebirth in Two Towers?

Gandalf the white was a 'different' Gandalf to Gandalf the Grey, not a re-animated corpse. Think more on the lines of the rebirth in Clarke's 2001.
Tolkein was never the one for Christian allegory- CS Lewis is the author who retold the Story of Christ through Aslan in the Narnia books.

I agree Cord, in fact gandalf's rebirth is closer to that of Odin in the Norse sagas, when he hung on the tree of wisdom. This is a kind of shamanic rebirth.
However, what about the barrow-wights? Are these reanimated or simply ghosts?

I always saw them more as like wraiths- not ringwraiths, but maybe more like the medieval idea of a revenant. i never equate them with what we think of as 'zombie's' either in movie or voodoo culture.
