You see, my contingency plan involves a generator, 50 inch HD TV, an xbox360, an good sized old building with barred windows/heavy doors, a chain gun on the roof, 3 liquor stores worth of supplies, a stereo, hydroponic lamps and certain type of seeds, my bladed weapon collection, a power rack, a hot tub and the entire Dallas Cowboys cheerleading squad. Bring on the apocalypse I say

The world has been taken over by zombies. You may have one (non-ballistic) weapon. What do you choose, and why?
Just for good measure, I'm taking the 'Shaun of the Dead' apporach to zombies and assuming you must destroy the brain to kill them.
good suggestions so far. I'm certainly not as qualified as cord, and could only hope he was around to call the shots, but if he wasn't...
first, how come there are never any zombies in freezing temperatures? "The Thing" doesn't count, because that was an alien, even though it did take over and use bodies as hosts, not the same as zombie. never any zombie movies in freezing temp zones....maybe there is something to that.
anyway, I'd have to go with first getting a bunch of good machettes and finding my way North and test the "cold climate=no zombie" theory. If I'm wrong, I'm dead....or should say 'undead'.

they'd all freeze I don't know how that would affect the virus, but the hosts would die
lucky me, I'm on a generally barren island in canada,

Not so. Whilst the body would not generate body heat as a living body would, decomposition creates thermal energy, and as they are animate, some of the kinetic energy would change state and become heat.

I would pretty much do the xbox360, liquor store, rail gun, hydroponics contingency plan of cords. But I would also have like a sniper rifle to shoot at zombies for kicks.

never heard of hypothermia? the fact is, as it gets colder, many parts of the body change and become slower, the blood vessels for example It wouldn't take too long for them to slow down to the point that it can get colder and the liquid freezes not to mention snowdrifts. have you ever tried to walk through a tall snowdrift? doesn't work

huh? I dunno, is there a difference? I just wouldn't want the zombies that can run, use weapons, drive, or learn. that would suck.
