It was a HIPOTHETICAL situation completely fictitious for curiousities sake, work with me here.
I'll start, I'd throw on my fatigues and combati boots (just to look badass) and grab this big japanese make survival knife that is about the size of a good dagger, grab some non perishable food and my grandpa's 30.06 bolt action hunting rifle, and his .357 magnum/.38special and his .45 long colt and load up with a few hundred or thousand rounds of ammunition and load it all into our highlander, also I would grab a first aid kit, and extra clothes, and I'd head up into the mountains near my town, around a nice sized lake, and several streams, and I'd build a shelter, barricades, and a sort of stroinghold with traps, oh and I'd taker my gf and my best friend joe with me and whoever he's with or would want to be with, and we'd survive.

Roflol! This is a favorite discusion between me and a lot of my friends. That we have all the time! I always say two machettes for melee. (the rest which doesn't count in this thread I guess consists of two Ruger Redhawks .44 mag, a remington 700 30'06 and a 1851 colt navy just for fun and sentimental value! haha  .) We always make the rule that it has to be whatever you can imediatley get within 30 minutes of wherever it is we are talking about it. I don't know why but this little scenario NEVER grows old. We have had the same discussion about us vs zombies at least a 100 times, lol.

Hey think about it for a sec, I'd be out in the woods at least 35 minutes from civilization in the vast wilderness with endless places to hide, easily defended high ground and hills, fully armed, a constant supply of food in the form of fish, and other wildlife, and plant foods, I mean you could hide, create a great stronghold or fort, easily defend the place, you'd be completely safe, and I'd have all of my "other" needs taken care of if oyu know what I mean... Seriously though, I'd be totally safe, no problem. I don't understand why they never do that in the movies. Anyone ever seen that old movie red dawn? It's the perfect ennvironment to survive in if something like that happend.
