Hi, i'm based in Birmingham, England, already have a background in martial arts (karate), but am now thinking of taking up MMA- anyone from around here know any good places to train in Birmingham or the West Midlands?

Loc: england

I found this place which is in Cannock while looking to learn BJJ.A bit far for me and i found a closer place.

This place has a branch in Birmingham too.

Thanks for the links- i think i've seen these sites before. Do you currently train MMA? If so, how often, because Cannock seems very far and the impact JKD school appears to require students to train almost everyday of the week to get real mixed martial arts training (i.e. attend all the different arts taught).
Is the training self defence based or competition based (or both)- are fighters trained for the cage? DO you spar full contact often?
p.s. how about Gracie Barra Birmingham? HAve you trained there or know if its good? (all Gracie Jiu Jitsu is probably quality i know, but isn't Barra from Carlson's sons' side- which Helio describes as a rip off - in not too dissimilar words)
