not sure what batter ya use but I found the best is the lithiums for any electronics. I had a big problem with regular batters in my digital camera. The lithium's lasted way longer.

I fixed up my sandbag a bit today, made another layer of tape with duct tape. Looks great, but the duct tape is very slippery once you get a bit sweaty, so I'm going to have to do a third layer of gaffer's tape, it's feel is much more conducive to not slipping out of your hands, much more like fabric.

I swear I'll get the pictures up one day.

9-30

Overhead squats
100#- 5 reps
90#- 5
95#-5/5/7

Deadlift- opposite grip snatch grip
8/8/8/8

50# sandbag trunk rotation
10/10/10

Switched to overhead squats because I found out I was doing my front squats wrong, and my wrists don't like it when I do it the right way, so went back to the overhead squat like I had before. Seems like 95# is the right starting place for now. Deadlifts good at 8 reps. Trunk rotations work the forearms as well because of the grip on the sandbag.

Woo-ha!!

Does anybody have any suggestions for mixing up my workouts? Not that I'm bored with them, but are there any groups that I'm not working or could be working better? basically I'm doing three different workouts:

pullup/dip/push press

squat/deadlift/some sort of core work

cardio on the wavemaster

Whacha think?

I don't have any exact excercise suggestions, but try to work the same general muscles in a different way. Add some bodyweight excercises!!

If your sandbag is slippery when you sweat go down to a surplus store and get a kit bag. They are quite big so once you become competant at a certain weight you can always put more into it. plus it will only cost you like 50p and its alot less work than heaving 25kg of sand over and over just so you can tape it.

You could try some muscle ups. They are pretty hard pullup/dip exercise in one.

You could add some snatches, c&J, dumbbell snatches etc
Also the CrossFit site has great ideas for workouts if you are getting bored.

What sort of goals do you have training wise?
As this will reflect the kind of work you want to be doing and maybe I can help more.

10-7

Pullup/dip/85# push press superset w/ 2 minutes rest
8/10/8
6/8/7
5/5/5
5/5/5

Much more explosive reps to start out. Got in more at the beginning, but wearing out at the end. Felt good, though.

Will come back and reply to you guys after work.

Basically functional strength gain, cardio improvement, and fat loss. I wouldn't say weight loss, because I feel pretty good at 5'11"/6' and 170lbs. If I convert fat-weight loss to muscle-weight gain I should be doing good.

Physically looking better is on my list, but I know that will come as a side-effect of the other items. My wife has already noticed improvements in that area. Looking at pictures from my wedding a year and a half ago, my face looks thinner, and there is noticable improvement in my shoulders and arms.

This is also helped by my job, I work in a warehouse packing up pallets for shipment. It's not a continuously hard labor job, but all day lifting things (sometimes very heavy), walking around, and never sitting down.

The wife and I are going to buy a recumbent excerise bike soon as well and I will be using that fairly often, probably in the morning before work and mixing in HIIT on it once in a while.

Did I ramble enough?
