ok i startd american style karate and i had 2 yrs of kickboxing training and then wher i went it was mostly girls and we traind just as hard as the few boys, then it closed and i went to a different place and i am the only girland i constantly get pickd on by the leader who is a male adult who thinks girls cant fight. he makes me fight him and the older more advanced fighters and i am constantly beating them by atleast 10 pts.! but he says i failed. then this summer he sent me away to learn kickboxing, and tai chi. i already know both of them!! he keeps testing me and i keep winning but he doesnt stop picking on me during classes. i hav gotten 3 injuries this year bc of his harsh training. this is the last place in town wher i can take karate/ kickboxing, what should i do? ~ANGIE~

Get a heavy bag and train at home until such time as you can look further afield for a school where you can resume structured training in an environment where you can be happy.

Maybe look for places further away from home for places to train? I don't know about your situation, but I personally don't find driving an hour or less to a place a big hassle.
What exactly do you mean by beating them by 10 pts? You don't mean you manage to tap them more often do you, and what does Tai Chi have to do with kickboxing?

though he does pick on you doesnt that mean you get alot more excercise and practice than some of the other guys?? Though getting injuries because of it isnt good though I would say sparring with him and the older guys is some kind of positive thing. Maybe hes just helping you out????...or maybe not
get some equipment at home and train there sometimes to give yourself a break from it all. And if you could maybe you can call up some of those other girls you've trained with before and be like training partners?? Just throwing out ideas

I think if you KNOW he's an arrogant arse, I would say follow cord's advice and find another dojo. But, you said there isn't another place you can go, bummer. I think you should keep going and really listen to heart, is this teacher (despite appearring to be an arse) actually testing you, maybe he thinks you've got great potential because your beating all the others and wants you to do well. But what you want is what matters, tell us how the next few lessons go.
