No, you are thinking of a two fisted punch. So yes there is really a punch like that. I will try to find some pics.

Punches rarely earn you any points, they have to be either a knock down or an extremely hard punch in order to score. They only time they counted punches as points for me was at the AAU nationals, but only then because it was a knock down. Also, it only states that punching is a valid attack, not that it scores points.

ok, whatever. I have scored plenty of punching points in sparring competitions, even if they don't knock down. but I am not going to argue with you.

Not saying you can't score points, it really depends on the judge most of the time anyway. Not dissagreeing with you anyway just saying

Punches can score points. But it's awfully difficult to get 3 out of 4 judges to punch that clicker and give you a point.
If you were to score with a punch it would only be rear punch. Jabs are useless in competition. Usually in competition only the lower belts favor punching. The hiher belts concentrate on kicking combos, no matter how off balance they tend to get, some almost defy gravity to get that extra kick.

Because it is a sport, the main purpose is to score and win. Blocking kicks or punches keeps you from racking up points, if your blocking that means your opponent is attacking. Eventually he wil score since you can't block everything. Leaving you behind in points.

If you notice matches rarely go to double digits. Not unless one opponent clearly out matches or out classes the other. Usually matches end in winner 6 points loser 4. And both fighters could have thrown nearly hundred kicks + punches. Esecially with now it being only 3, 2 minute rounds.

For some reason my last three matches eneded in sudden death I managed to come out on top, but one of them was actually double sudden death My opponent attacked with a runner round house kick, I countered with a jump back kick, we hit at the same time!!! So double sudden death it was. (That was like 8 minutes of pure sparring , glad I was in good shape.
