The Colorado Yi Zong Family is proud to Welcome Luo De Xiu for his Summer, 2006, Xing Yi Quan/ Ba Gua Zhang Workshops.

*Denver/ Boulder, August 11th -14th *

This year all the seminars are open to the public!

Luo De Xiu is widely recognized as one of the world’s foremost experts in the arts of Ba Gua Zhang and Xing Yi Quan. With thirty plus years of experience he brings an unparalleled level of insight and clarity to the Chinese internal martial arts. As a teacher he is very open and has something to offer practitioners of all ages and from all disciplines.
As a student of famed Hebei Xing Yi Quan master Hong Yi Xiang, Luo was the Taiwan national full-contact champion three times in the early 70’s, as well as accepting challenges on Hong’s behalf. Later, he became close to the Hong family and learned the entire Yi Zong system as taught by their teacher Zhang Jun Feng.

Gao Style Shen Tien Palms 1-8
The large frame palms of Gao’s pre-heaven ba gua zhang. Luo De Xiu will be teaching circle walking palm changes from Gao’s pre-heaven Ba Gua Zhang. This set is an excellent introduction to the pre-heaven methods of Ba Gua Zhang.


Saturday, August 12th, from 12am-7pm @ Studio Soma

Hou Tien Line 7
Kun Gua - Touching, Sticking, Entwining and Changing
Luo will cover as many of the 8 short forms and their applications in the given time. This advanced line from Gao Yi Sheng's Post-heaven ba gua fighting palms will teach advanced coordination of the hands and feet for application.

Sunday, August 13th, from 11am-6pm @ Boulder Judo

Xing Yi - 5 Element Fists & Xing Yi 5 Element Linkage
This is a will be an excellent introduction to the forms, application and theory of Hong Yi Xiang’s Xing Yi Quan. Luo’s mastery of the fists, his clear explanations and applications make learning the movements simple. Luo will teach basic footwork, stances and applications of the five fists. After learning the five fists Luo will teach/ review a signature piece from Hong’s Xing Yi system, the Five Element Linkage. This exciting form puts all five fists together to be practiced in a continuous manner.


Monday, August 14th, from 10:30am to 1:30pm @ Boulder Judo

An Introduction to Ba Gua Throwing Methods.
Ba Gua Zhang at its highest levels is a throwing art. Luo De Xiu will introduce the basic practice methods and applications for developing good throwing technique. We will be holding this seminar at Boulder Judo. They have an excellent facility with a spring board judo floor, tatami mats and larger 4 inch pull out mats for everyone’s throwing comfort!

Cost:
Friday & Monday class $85 each
Saturday & Sunday $125each or $225 for both
$340 for all four days.
Preferred payment is cash (please contact if paying by check)
Same day registration (call for availability) $370 cash only
