Ok so it would seem you have some wrestling abilities and some wind up abilities. I also have wrestling abilities but they are combined with good striking abilities . Do you?
Do you think rather than popping at people and then people popping at you, you could be working the bag? And then discussing the best methods of reaching your goal? Time out perhaps? Seems like this is getting to a verbal stage of egos.
Ok so perhaps if the discussion was based on fighting skills as opposed to wit skills the thread would be more enjoyable for people to read?

So is golfing to an extent, look for it.

Wrestling is in karate. I am not going to get in to the stlye scenario. I learn to fight. And then learn to fight better.
Um,yeah, sure it is. That's why I see karateka being so proficient at wrestling and rolling around on the dojo floor everywhere, right? sheesh, what an imagination.

Ok you seem impressed with takedowns but they are not the end all. There is a whole heap of other things to train.
Good point, for me. Kata contain techniques to quickly and efficiently end an attack. It does not contain sprawling or wrestling no more than it contains how to form and shoot a chi-ball.
I am a karateka,I practice kata with diligence and I put kata into practice as well. I also practice wrestling and groundfighting, which has nothing to do with my kata no matter how much we pretend.
Come on now......

Here, I'll go first. Here are some good singles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRHaVzyNHfg&search=wrestling%20leg%20takedownYou can let me know what you'd recommend from a karate perspective prior to, during, or after, and which kata address each. I guess 'prior to' is the best bet for the application of karate techniques. Some folks have their insecurity settings on 'super-duper high' but I really do think there is productive discussion left in this.

plus keep in mind what we see might not be a literal sprawl but a possible connection that can be interpreted into a sprawl.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute now...this is a new development. Have I been misled?

no I want people to understand kata is open to interpretation. Yes there is a set movemnt BUT this is where the learning part comes in after the one method is learned it up to the practitioner to adapt what the have learned for a given situation. Therfore keeping things continiously evolving from a set base or root.

I'm having trouble seeing a punch to the groin (punch to the groin? from what position?) leads into a shot.
