The electricity and the water got cut off in my house today. I'm in Qatar at the moment--a tiny country near Saudi Arabia. In August. I was practically swimming in sticky sweat and my clothes were becoming permanent parts of my skin. My family and I had to beat it to the nearby mall just to get some air conditioning. I...HATE...HUMIDITY. I can stand dry heat. Dry heat is okay--not great--but okay. Humidity can burn in hell. (Does that even make sense? Ah who cares--as long as it got my point across...)

I know how you feel, I live in new jersey for 2 years where it would be 85-95 degree heat in the summer with around 90-95% humidity. Brutal stuff huh.

I hate that when I walk through downtown Toronto I am asked for change every few steps. I don't hate that I'm asked, I hate that I can't help them all. The "sorry, I don't have change" line has become an autopilot response. That in itself bothers me. Usually I don't actually have change but when I do have something to give I go on autopilot and not realize it until after I've walked past .. and then feel bad.

Christie, can you spare a dime?  Toronto is a big city and things like that happen. It happens in Edmonton as well and I'm sure many other places. I feel bad for the people who are really down on their luck but not all of them are and that is the bad thing.
