Here's my rant for the day.
I work with a guy who trains in Shorinryu, good style,if it's trained right. He is a ten year student and a sandan(3rd degree). He is also arrogant and condescending. Our conversations go along these lines.
B- "Hey Mike,been working out?"
M- "Yeah,we had a seminar this weekend on tuite.Do you know what tuite is?"
B- "Um,you do know I've been in ma for a while,right?"
M- "Tuite is grappling and joint locks."
B- "Aren't joint locks considered grappling?"
M- "It was a good seminar, you should have been there."
B- "Maybe next time. Would you like to get together with my group and spar or something? Maybe you can show me some weapons forms?"
M- "I'll tell ya what I know literally just about all of them. I'm so saturated with knowledge it's almost boring. I don't spar anymore because people got hurt."
B- "Saturated huh? But,you don't spar?Maybe we can go over some groundwork?"
M- "I don't do groundfighting,I don't think there's anyone who could take me down and if they did they'd be hurting when they got there."
B- "Ofcourse,but you don't spar......"
M- "I've got some techniques that can't be countered,I'm saturated I tell ya,there's not much I can't show you."
B- "Ok,have a good one Mike...."

I've been to his school twice, both times everyone stood around discussin all that they knew. Then we did some kata and weapons forms. The talking took up more than half the time though.
I've offered for him to visit my school many times, but he says he "doesn't get out that way much.." Yeah right, whatever. Keep 'training' ....
Anyone have any good smartass comments I could send his way?
