Cheese cake, Avocados and Lard. If those don't do it then nothing will... Failing that, instead of concerning yourself with weight (which is really only just a number) Worry about the skills and the strength behind them. I've known some 150 pounders who had unbelievable muscle strength... and others who couldn't fight themselves out of a wet paper bag. Give me the strength over the mass (almost) any day. onb

While you're absolutely right, strengths is better than mass, at 147lbs for 6'2", Dread is going to reap some serious advantages from gaining some weight. To put this into perspective, I'm ripped at 5'6" and 144lbs. So Dread is 8" taller than me and only 3lbs heavier. Gain some weight and Dread *will* be stronger, probably faster (because more muscle will equal more power) and will be less injury prone. That's going to make a huge difference to your MAs and will give you an enormous advantage when fighting. Because at 6'2", people around your height are going to be the ones picking fights, and there's every likelihood they're going to weight a good deal more!

Dont forget to cram in protien shakes. They are cheap and you can make them to be about 700 calories. Drink like 3 a day consisting of 3 meals out lets say 7-8.

You didn't mention it, but you might want to just get checked out medicaly to emliminate any possible physical condition. 6'2" and 145lbs just seems really thin to me. Be pretty pointless to struggle like hell, trying to gain weight, if there's some underlying problem in the way.
I had a check up not to long ago and everything was fine. I'm just not much of an eater. Well i don't eat regularly. At work i'm always to busy but now i have a goal i'll make more of an effort. It shouldn't be to hard as i'm a chef and restaurant manager(can't stand my own cooking). I'm going to follow TimBlack's advice and go for the 'Just F*cking Eat' diet. I think the journal will help as well.
Thanks for the advice TimBlack i appreciate it.

I have to say that although i'm skinny i am pretty fast and strong for my size. I have a good friend that is a black belt in karate and he's a pretty stocky guy, we had a bit of a playful rumble and afterwards he said he was amazed at how strong i was. I used to do Judo way back. I guess that helped. Thanks for all the responses. This is a very cool site with some very helpful people.

hehe, ashe_higgs, you've obviously never met our very own 38 year old Dereck
38 ... I'm 37 ... until September that is.
As you do get older for sure it gets harder to build muscle but everybody is different. If you get it in your head you can't do something then sure enough you probably won't be able to.
For myself, I did not seriously start weight lifting until I was 29 back in 1997. At that time I weighed 193 lbs and it wasn't good weight because a year or so before that I weighed 165 lbs but was physically active working in our plant not sitting at a desk. I implemented weight lifting only, no cardio, and in less then 6 months I was back to 165 lbs and was fitter then I had ever been.
Over the years I gained some good solid weight, gains went up, muscle size increased and I was feeling good ... still no cardio. When I did try cardio I found I lost weight of which I didn't like so I quit it all together. Then in 2001/2002 when I was 33/34 I decided to push myself to the limits and had my best gains ever (did HIT first time). Over that year my weight went from 195 lbs to 204 lbs, my bench went from 305 to 332, and my size increased as well ... all without any drugs with only eating more, much more, plus taking protein supplements. Of course in Sept. of 2002 I joined TKD and results went down with the introduction of cardio and "over training" ... but if I never joined I'm sure I would still be making gains. Now I'm normally around 195 to 200 lbs, can't lift as much, nor am I as big ... but I traded for having more endurace and more skill.
Dread21, and others, don't let the age thing get you hung up, don't let that be a barrier. I still believe with hard work I will get my gains back ... slowly ... and with time, I just have to find how to do it and still keep up my endurance and skills. All about balance.
Edit: I should also mention I'm 5'8.25" tall.

Well this advice may come a little late...but those Snickers bars pack 280 calories each. Yikes! I wouldn't think so, since they're so small.
