I think a conditioning forum would be a good idea since a lot of people here (especially newbies) seem to be either ignorant or mislead about the concepts of conditioning. I basicly want this forum to be informative and helpful to those who either want info on starting conditioning or discovering new types, to expell myth from facts and to prevent people from trying stupid things such as kicking the crap out of things with their shins and ending up with broken legs or bone cancer. I think it would be qite a good forum to have since it is a contraversial and wide area of disscussion (contraversy is interesting). Please consider

I think it is too narrow a field of discussion to warrant a whole area IMO. Threads on the subject turn up intermitently on the strength, health and nutrition, MA talk, and kickboxing fora, and they seldom set the boards alight with input. If conditioning is part of your style, you tend to be inducted into it by your teacher. If you are training on your own and want shins that can hit concrete like Tong Po, then you should join a class that teaches conditioning. Its an area where giving generic advice/theory for every teenager with a tree in their garden to read, could lead to disaster.

Thats what Im saying, if people are looking for advice on here then there should be a place where they can redily get them, even if a new forum isnt created for the subject then perhaps we could atleast join it with another forum, eg. Strengthening/Conditioning forum (dont wanna invade your turf). Personally I think conditioning would be quite a big feild of disscussion and im sure you would too if you didi some research.

The best, safest way to promote bone density is through heavy resistance training, combined with high impact cardio (running/skipping), supplemented with correct eating. That is scientific fact. 'hardening' and 'conditioning' exercises have more of an effect on crushing the nerves in a striking limb/area, allowing for greater force to be used without the natural inhibitors that pain triggers. This doesnt make the bones harder, it just means you dont cry and hop around lots when you let rip with a kick that lands shin to elbow.

Im not asking for the best way to do conditioning, Im asking for a conditioning forum, and plus theres alot to conditioning than bone conditioning.

I don't see the need for a seperate Conditioning forum. 90% of that subject is covered in the Strengthening forum already.

Please site sources for the scientific facts as related to conditioning and a reduction of sensation. I don't have any reduced sensation in my arms, legs, shins, or digits yet I condition regularly.
