Caption from break.com who put the video on their site: "Remember that backyard organized street fight from about a year ago where Kimbo hit the guy so hard it looked like his eye had become dislodged. Kimbo looked undefeatable in the 2 min fight. Anyway, this Boston Police Officer Sean Gannon challenged him to another underground street fight after seeing the video. The video also shows why they use a cage for the ufc. It is not to keep the fighters in. It is to keep the "posse" out. It would have been over much sooner had that been the case. Kimbo's boys did everything to help Kimbo get some air besides an oxygen tank or mouth to mouth.

I wouldn't delete this but I do think that Kimbo and his ilk don't deserve any of the spotlight. The last thing this sport needs is to be invaded by this trash.
Mark, you're right about Kimbo's posse. They interrupted that several times. Having no referee didn't help matters either. Thank God the Kimbo crap has come and gone.

LOL @ believing Kimbo is an excon who boxed in prison. From his own managers mouth on MMA.tv, Kimbo has never been incarcerated and had never had any formal training, but he has since then began training after the gannon fight. If you've seen any more of Kimbos fight you'd see that he is a great sportsmen, and not quite the thug you make him out to be.

To start with, I know its an older thread, but what the heck...
I am not sure why you made a point of bringing race into the scenario, but it has NOTHING to do with what anyone has said.
If you dont like the 'thug' argument, how about this one?
He is a one-dimensional fighter, and a lousy one at that.
He hits hard. Thats about it.
I agree with the others. From what has been seen so far, he has little to no skill, and warrants to further attention.

Well it's 7:56 and Chris is waking up having a cup of coffee and some Fruit Loops. He strolls over to his computer and logs in only to find himself unable to access one of his favorite websites. After a few minutes of sitting around going "OMG! WTF" it might occur to him that maybe it was not prudent to tell me to shut up. It could be that as we speak he is franticly trying to contact another mod or perhaps even the Administraitor to allow him to access the site again.
If you pull a dogs tale you might just get bit.

Interesting thing about kimbo, his cousin is emanual augustus.. a pretty decent pro boxer. It was taped and broadcast as part of the show on Bravo in the UK, dont know about the Spike televised line up in the states. It was pretty one sided. The guy he fought was a big strong ex all american wrestler (kind of looked like the old Stretch Armstrong Toy figure), who took Gannon down quick and and pounded till he opened a cut up that turned into a fight stopper. Sorry I cant remeber the oponents name- it was something like Karl Lee Crenshaw or a similar Deep south double Barrell serial Killer name

In UFC 55 Sean Gannon fought Branden Lee Hinkle and Branden won in the first round due to a technical knock out. Sean was being pounded and could not defend himself so the refree stopped the fight. Can't remember what he really looked like but Stretch Armstrong?  You make me laugh Cord. Boy that brings back memories.  EDIT: My man Jeff "The Snowman" Monson beat Branden in UFC 57 for his debut match with that North/South Choke in the first round. Just thought I'd throw that in there. Not gonna argue with you.
First, Kimbo's boss, the Miami porn producer is the one who used his bouncer's jail record as a marketing gimmick. If he recanted, go figure.
I don't personally believe most of the junk I read on MMA.TV, especially about people hyping themselves. I make my observations from his backyard prize fight which, all things considered, would have landed him in jail in any case.
You wanna believe his boss that Kimbo has never trained, then I have some waterfront property down here in South Florida to sell you. You can take an airboat ride over to Miami to see Kimbo "work".
I had hoped this thread would die quietly instead of fostering the kind of silliness that it has. It is now locked. If anyone has a good reason to reopen it, PM me.
