got random questions for you. even though this is in the General talk forum, I've decided to base the random question of the day on martial arts...silly me.

Day 1:
Take the number of WEEKLY estimated hours on the forum and divided them by the estimated number of WEEKLY hours training (including exercising).
my answer:
20 hours forum / 8 hours training = answer: 2.5

which means I'm here 2.5x as much as I train/exercise.

btw, don't count the hours you are on the forum while at work or school....since you wouldn't be able to be training during that time anyway.

I'm injured, I can't divide by zero...

When I was healthy, was about 4/20, so 0,2.

Well since I am mostly on here at work my numbers won't be too bad thankfully.

15 hours forum / 8 hours training = 1.875 times more on here then I train or exercise.

My 15 hours on here, not including work is "usually" 2 hours a night weekdays (when wife goes to bed so I don't ignore her) and 5 hours on the weekend but sometimes usually less ... though during the week it might be slightly more so averages out.

My 8 hours of train is 3 hours of weight lifting a week as I'm only doing 2 days and I also include my warm up and cool down. The other 5 hours are training in MA ... though lately it has been more then this but there are other days it is not so I also averaged this out. I was leaning towards 6 hours but then there have been a few weeks I've only done 2 classes. And this doesn't include sticking around for an hour after class or longer talking with my Instructor. When I do this my wife always bugs me about having a girlfriend. I do ... her name is Taekwondo.

Hi all. I'm new to the neighborhood, so my classtime/exercise time to forum time is significantly different. About 6 hours to ten minutes (minus the time it took to sign up here). Now, I have a question, and I appologize if I'm breaking protocol, but, does anyone know anything about Chizonkon? Also known as string-Tekko, similar to a Koppo stick? Don Rearic says (on his site) that it's an Okinawan Karate weapon (pocket stick), but I can't find anything else about it, like techniques. Sorry if I broke rules by just blurting this out, but if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

I'm rarely on here at home,so I'm good.

On the other hand I work by myself in a large factory. Plenty of room for kata,excercises,etc...I've got it made, lol.

Well, I'm not going to be 'sniddy' about it, but can't really compare the two. Forum is open in the background while I work (40 hrs/wk) but how much am I really participating? How do I measure the learning gleaned while actually participating by reading and posting, vs. dojo time? That is apples and oranges to me. So, I'd prefer to think about the time spent in various subforums (zen vs. general talk for example), or quality posts vs. BS asides.

For the latter, my guess is I'm batting zero.

I didn't ask for an analysis or rationalization, just the numbers.

example:
a typical day could be, 0-60 minutes in the morning. have forum up in the background at work => 0 hours. hop on the forum for an hour or 2 before bed. so estimate 3 hours a day times 7 is about 21 hours a week.

random question 2:
Hows it hanging, swinging, dripping or drooping or whatever the heck it does?

question 3:
Do you talk (in-person) about forum topics that you've read/posted to people you train with? (not including fellow forum members).
