40 pound bag

started using a 40 pound bag at the gym I go to. It flies around like a speed bag, almost. the last time I used a 40 pound bag was maybe 20 years ago, and I guess I was a lot less strong then, because I don't remember it being so wild.
is there a system for the 40 pound bag? are you supposed to use it like a slow speed bag and hit it on the beats? anybody have advice?

LOL. It never occured to me that there might be a different "system" for working with a 40lb bag. My "system" was to use a bigger bag.

If you shorten the rope it's hanging from, it won't swing around so much.

thanks, I actually tried that to, and got a "what are you an idiot, do you think that I want to stand there and have you hit the bag that I am holding when I could be reading a magazine?" look.
