I really enjoy MT, but all of my power lies mostly in my fists, and in my knees. I've been working on my kicks and elbows, but my elbows never hit solidly, and my kicks are still very weak. I was wondering if anyone thinks I should just stick with boxing, even though I love MT...

Depends on if you are talking about competition or for self defense. If you are worried about competing and not throwing enough kicks-per-round or something like that, than maybe you should think about taking up boxing.

If you are interested in mainly the SD aspect, I don't see why it would matter.

Want to improve kicking? Work at them HARD until you perfect them. (or least get them up to a decent level.

Everybody takes their own perspective to an art. If you are more comfortable using your knees and fists, then adapt your sparring to suit it- i.e. get inside where you don't need kicks.

That is not to say you should not work on your kicks- the more weapons in your arsenal(urgh!) the better. Everybody has preferences in sparring, you just have to control the match so that you can use your preferences.

Well, MT has more arsenal then just kicks and elbows. Go for the clinch. Many MT boxers who find it hard to fight at long distance prefers to close in. Many of them become "clinch specialists" and it's really hard to keep them at a distance, you should try working on the clinch and how to get in if you're feeling kicks are becoming a frustration. Remembers, there's nothing wrong with changing your style of attack.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've been working the clinch lately, I was just never sure if I'd be able to do it when it came to a real competition. Guess I'll just have to train harder til I'm positive!
