I won't bother insulting you, but I really want to know - why would you write your name in blood? Seriously, I'm curious.

From someone who takes their martial arts so seriously it is like a religion to them [like myself], writing your name in the blood you spill is, in a sense, telling the world around you that your spirit is stronger than your flesh, and you will not given in to such superficial things as pain. Frankly, I commend you for this type of practice. It shows a unique level of dedication missing in today's training.

Think about it, guys. He beats his hands on a makiwara of some sort until he bleeds from it, but can focus enough to endure the pain of writing his name with his own blood. Each time that happens, the hand gets stronger. If you keep going till you bleed again, you have to go further. In the end, your spirit grows as well.

OK, those things still don't hit back. I don't care how big of a bloody-knuckles champ you are, your ribs still break, your eyes still get pushed back into your sockets and stomping your groin is gonna kill like a mofo. Also, if you can't seem to write the words "to" or "too" and have to replace them with "2", I'm wondering if you shorten all your written words as much as possible so you don't bleed to death by the time you finish a sentece?

PS - There's a "VTG Thread" already posted in this forum - perhaps you full contact blood caligraphers would like to direct these kind of comments there?

THANK U VERY MUCH!!!!...finally!!! i'm not telling u all 2 go out and do it urselves..but i'm just sayin what we do..i couldn't care less how yall see it, it's supposed 2 teach u 2 over-come "mind over matter"!!..with all the pain u feel u must go on, it's like havin a broken leg but u must run in order 2 save ur life..yall are ridiculous for being so "harsh" on me for it..and as for why we write our name in our blood? so we know it ours..the blood, sweat and tears that went into it doesn't go un-noticed, blood stains, we remember what we went through on that given day..

honestly..just cause i do it..and yall don't..does that make me less of an M artist?...no...i think it makes me more of 1, yall will crumble under that sort of pressure..crap i thought it was crazy..the first time i ever joined my dojo about 5 years ago..my VERY FIRSY GRADING we had 2 walk a drive way of about 150m on our knuckles...i never understood the sense of it..but our gradings are meant 2 break u...see how much u can take and push u beyond that...open ur eyes and listen!!(yes i know what u typed..think about it)

Hey man, it was a joke. No one is questioning your abitily - I have no idea who you are or what you can do. But posting this kind of stuff on a public forum does invite criticism of your character. If this is how you train, fine. But what does bragging about it on the internet do to enhance it? Why make egocentric statements to a community of people who's purpose is to learn and share? I'm sorry if I've triggered some sensitivity in you, but you need to understand that many, MANY people on this site have experienced plenty of pain too, and most of them didn't inflict it upon themselves. I hope you get whatever it is you want out of your training, even if it does make most people go
