These are only some of the worries and you'll go crazy if you over analyze this stuff. I work in a chemical plant for the industrial sector. Many of the chemicals we use in our manufacturing to make process chemicals, cleaning chemicals, boiler treatment chemicals, mining chemicals, oil & gas production chemicals, car wash chemicals, etc., you will find in packaged processed foods. You will find them in your tooth paste, your shampoo, you hand soap, laundry detergent, eye drops, cough medicine, etc.
What I'm trying to say is in a higher dosage these things can me harmful but in the quantities we consume or use they have been deemed safe for humans by government appointed agencies (Food & Drug, etc.). Now don't get me wrong, some are better off in moderation, others may one day be found to be harmful and removed from production (red dye in smarties was found to be cancerous ... we used the same dye at one time), or the government makes money on it and will label harmful but allow it still to be sold (cigarettes). No matter I think one would go crazy trying to break down all of the foods that they eat or all of the products they use because they may contain small amounts of harmful ingredients. Just be smart about things ... moderation or elimination is the key.
