Ok, the problem is when I learnt sanserou (goju ryu kata) I used to have a problem on the punch after the elbow strike, my left shoulder used to almost dislocate. I no longer have this problem (This was about two years ago) but I was just wandering If you experienced the same? Like I said I no longer have this problem, maybe over time I coreccted my technique or my shoulder joint strengthened its self to prevent this. Thoughts?

I had a similar sort of experience when I first started learning a kick with my left leg (the weaker leg), I could hardly do, even keep it in suspended for very long, but now I can keep it up (my leg) for a very long time. Maybe you have just got used to it like you thought, but almost dislocating your arm seems a bit more something.

Are you talking about the punch that crosses the body toward the hip?
Yep, thats the one, although I think its actually supposed to be at a fairly flat angle, rather than downwards towards the hip, I suppose it depends on who's teaching you.
By the way its no longer a problem it went away years ago, but I wanted to know if it was a normal experiance.

Another thing, sometimes when I bench, my left hip feels like its going to dislocate. maybe its the pressure from powering from the floor.

DCM, what height/weight/age are you? maybe you need to eat more?
(mods: this thread really isn't a general MA question....it's a strengthening one maybe?)
