As we were packing our boxes into our old combi
My little boy sat on his bag, that held his clean white gi
We were moving to a brand new home to live with his daddy
And tears where falling from his blue eyes as he looked up at me,
Is there jujitsu in Maryland, mommy can you tell me so,
Is there jujitsu in Maryland, I really need to know?
I don’t care if it’s Japanese, Brazillian or Judo,
Just tell me mommy is there JJ before we have to go?
Oh mommy, I love you and daddy, I am sure you know,
But I’m really sad cos I must leave my friends in my dojo.
I know our new home's lovely, and has more than one storey,
But mommy, how can I live there if I can’t do ran-do-ri.
Is there Jujitsu in Maryland, are there dojos there,
Can I throw new friends and grapple them, and roll without a care?
Is there a happy dojo, with mats on which to land,
Oh mommy dear, is there jujitsu there in Maryland.
Oh how my heart beat painfully, when he asked me so,
I couldn’t speak, I couldn't say, because I didn’t know.
I ran to the google, and searched it straight away,
And there in Gaithersburg I found that there would Be JJ.
Yes, there’s jujitsu in Maryland, that, my son I know.
You can train and you can roll and be like Machado.
When he heard this welcome news a smile came on his face-y
OK, I know, it weren’t judo, but he could be like a Gracie.
