What's some annoying things that martial artists tend to say? For example, a major pet peeve of mine is "on the street". Ex: "Spinning kicks won't work on the street." The people that say that must believe that everyone are actually "super deadly ninjas" or something. Any others?

I hate when people say that. Ok if they had actually mastered the art, put down 20 years of training into it, and said it, I may believe but some idiot who read about it for 5 minutes and comes with these claims, I just shake my head, reach for my revolver, point at my head and wanna pull the trigger.

Agreed! My thinking is that you're entitled to say that if and only if you challenge the world grandmaster of the style in question to a deathmatch of some kind and win. If you can beat Chen Xiaowang in a fight, then I'll listen to you when you say tai chi sucks.
Some others:
- There are no shortcuts
- Most fights I've seen end on the ground
Yeah, and most fights I've seen have been between sloppy drunkards without knowledge of martial arts.
- For practical self defense, you need an art with emphasis on groundfighting.
- <<A certain style or technique>> is outdated.
Two people getting in a fight is the same now as it ever was. Punching someone in the face now is no different from punching someone in the face in feudal Japan.
- <<Capoeira/ acrobatics/ spinning or flying kicks>> are impractical.
Yes, but they're freakin' cool. Martial art should not be the same as self-defense
