Haven't practiced this but here's a clip.
Let me give you some background first. These two people train the same place my Instructor does and he was there when this was taken. The guys name is Lane, the females name is Shiela. This wasn't too long ago and unfortunately to this day Lane is still hurt.
Flying techniques are a young person's game. A lot of risk for the element of surprise and a chance you will be smashed before you can get the lock.
Not my thing although I love to watch them. The slo-mo usually reveals just how close people are to getting dropped on their bean. Loyd Irvin put himself out of action for a long time trying a flying Traiangle in NAGA a few years ago. Jacked his neck up bad.
Second dan requirement for testing at our dojo, "flying arm bar". The technique is very "sacrificial" if not done right, yup right on your back or head. If you look carefully at some of the pics you really don't have to be "flying" as they say. A lot of the guys have their back/shoulders on the ground as they cross their leg over to execute the arm bar. Yes .. there are people that do it in mid air, looks good too! I'm one of the older guys so I'll be snoozing on my back before I try the leg cross over in mid air
