April 6th,

MMA day,

Well my dues were up yesterday and i couldn't pay them right away so i went to karate instead . I hope i can muster up the $150 next week .

Started out with 100 slow push ups, followed by 200 sit ups. Then we did 3 sets of 25 dips. Practiced basics for an hour, did some Target work for an hour. Last but not least we worked kata hard. Like always a good solid class.

April 12th.

I will probably get blasted for this but this week i decided to fast all week until Mon. This is a spiritual as well as a healthful thing for me to do and i feel great! This is now my 3rd day and i am going for a full 7.
This should have been in the health/nutrition but it is also considered strengthening. i will resume training on Mon.Oss

Ok. What a loooong week. I feel great though. Its time to get back to work tonight. If any one feels that they have hit a snag in there training routine try a fast. I know some people on this forum knock fasting but telling you from my own experience and research, it is very important in the modern day just as it was 2000 years ago. It renews your strength and discipline and gives you that "I can do anything attitude." It is excellent for the body and mind. Go ahead and do the research it wont disappoint.

O.K i am going to tweak my routine a tiny bit.

Mondays - Grip training, stretching throughout the day, karate at night.

Tuesdays - 2 week split. 2 weeks of weight training, 2 weeks of body weight training.

Wednesday - Stretching, running, bag work, anaerobic, jump-rope, alternating weeks.

Thursday - same as Monday.

Friday - MMA

Saturday - MMA every other weekend. Training split as per Tuesday.


Went to karate last night. Warmed up through body weight exercises. Worked offensive drills, did all kata. Then we did a lot of defensive timing drills. Then did a little sparring and bag work.

I felt great last night!

April 25th.

Went to karate yesterday had a pretty intense class then did 3 purple belt tests.

Today, body weight training.

Did 4 sets of handstand push ups

4 sets of one arm push ups

4 sets of towel pull ups

4 sets of a variation of the Hindu push up. At the last phase of the push up instead of just going back to the starting position i reverse the motion back to the starting position.

4 sets of reverse push ups,

3 sets of the one legged death ....i mean squat.


A pretty good session. I wanted to do more but had to cut the grass . I hate owning a home

Active rest day,

25 mins of anaerobics

30 sec burpees
1 min dumbbell swings (30 sec each arm)
30 sec all out punching with weights

1.30 min rest , for 6 Rd's.

Felt good, nothing like training without oxygen .

Hey MrMoyer,

No i don't go to failure each set every time. I try and mix it up. Lets say one day i will do the traditional 3 sets with x# of reps. Then the next time i workout i will do a pyramid, then i might do higher sets with lower reps. That way my body never gets used to one way and i end up doing more reps than normal. Thanks for the inquiry.

Hey, haven't posted for a while, so thought I'd say nice work, it's still all looking good. Yup, I'm one of those people who knocks fasting - over 3 days of fasting I'd lose a minimum of 5 lbs in weight, almost certainly more - and that's not considering water loss.
