Kasa Getami- side headlock position Mae geri-front kick Yoko geri- side kick maewashi geri- round kick ushiro geri- back kick zenkutsodachi-front stance kubadachi-horse stance kokutsudachi- backstance kosu dachi-cross stance uchi udi uke- middle block kosu uke-cross block mawate-means to go to opposite stance ex. right front stance to 180 degree turn into left front stance. soto udi uke-outside to inside middle block age uke-high block shuto uke- knife hand strike ichi-one ni-two san-three she-four go-five roku-six sichi-seven hachi-eight ku-nine ju-ten ju ichi-eleven ju ni-twelve ju san-thirteen ju she-fourteen ju go-fifteen ju roku-sixteen ju sichi-seventeen ju hachi-eighteen ju ku-nineteen Ni ju-twenty te-hand bushi-warrior or war man kan-school dojo-training hall Shotokan- I believe the literal translation is school of waving pines Heian-peaceful way(as in the Heian katas) Tekki- iron horse(as in the Tekki katas) hadari-left migi-right marute-augmented block nukite-spear hand gedan bari-downward block oizuki-lunge punch gaokuzukireverse punch Kekomi-snap keage-thrust ogoshi-hip throw saonagi-arm drag takedown tao toshi- over the shoulder throw _________________________ The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle.
