I agree that from time to time street clothing are a good idea...however it's kind of hard on the clothes..
Mixing other arts? Ummm Krav is a mixture of arts...what is wrong with adding to ones skill sets? Last I checked..some grappling is part of Krav.
I duno about you, but I am not going to grapple in my good jeans..at least not every week. I generaly wear a Krav t-shirt and black Gi pants. Works rather well.
Of course, wear your crappy jeans that you are gonna throw out anyway. Let me re phrase my other statement... I believe in sticking to one thing and doing it great rather that trying to be master of all and wind up master of none. Sometimes its great to have alot of tools in your toolbox but what if you only need a hammer, screwdriver and a wrench?

good point, but krav is an open system which means it lacks certain aspects. while krav actually does have a ground fighting strategy, i feel bjj complements krav perfectly. it fills in all the ground fighting holes, besides, if youre a 130lb guy (like me) how else can you take down and submit a 250lb guy without risk of serious injury?

The point of krav is not sport but self defense, I dont give a crap if I can wrestle a bjj and make him submit or submit a 250lb guy. Either one may beat me with rules. I am fighting dirty and fighting for my life. I want to inflict as much injury and pain as quick as possible so I can get away from the assailant or be prepared to counterattack the assailant's (or terrorist's) friends.

You are correct that it is a defense art...but I still have one heck of a lot of fun. I also think BJJ compliments Krav..but I am too darn old to have my joints yanked apart by a 20 someting. I limit my BJJ training to seminars and rolling with friends. I look forward to our classes..for defense skills, a great workout and I seem to enjoy getting punched... I do understand your point tho.

Don't worry, it shouldn't be too much longer before someone comes strolling into your gym for a workout wearing the all new ACU fatigues Seriously, I agree with the Tshirt and gi pants or sweat pants for most training days. Street clothes or work clothes once in a while so you know how it feels, but make sure it's your heavy bag you're kicking in your street shoes. I priced one once, and sheesh, the cheapos were expensive.

hey all im saying is krav is kind of lacking in the ground fighting area, and bjj helps to add a few more weapons in your arsenal. i train krav strictly for self-defense too, i just think bjj helps to round out my ground game, and its fun at the same time. happy thanksgiving krav forum!
