What do you wear - revisited

After the BJJ seminar last weekend, I found that I like working in a Gi. Most Krav classes use Gi or Krav pants and a T-shirt. Belts are almost never worn.
Any opinions on this?
My feeling is that a full Gi might be good for grappling...the Gi top gives you a bit more protection and handy places to grab...
Just my two cents...

The gi is definitely a must for intermediate and advanced bjj. I rolled in my krav gear (jersey t-shirt and workout pants, with the KM logo and all black naturally) and i tore my pants! The gi is so much more rugged and can really take a beating. It also changes things strategically as you can use your opponent's to your advantage. My school gives the option of wearing wristbands instead of belts too, so i never wear one. I throw the band on my arm for standup classes and on my ankle for ground.

Krav classes have mostly been without a gi. It has evolved into sweats and a shirt. Personally I would rather train in street clothes. More reality of what I will be wearing in a fight. The classes when we have worn street clothes show how limited your movement really is in everyday clothing. Also, I take KM for self defense only, I could really care less about mixing other arts into it.

I share this sentiment. We train in an "official Krav Maga t-shirt" and black pants, yet it would be interesting to train in for example what I typically wear to work (skirt and top). Or wearing the big coats, scarves, boots, etc. one typically wears for Scandinavian winters. When it's -15 C you're so bundled up you're waddling from here to there... how are you supposed to fight? (Then again, what kind of twat would be out attacking people when it's -15

LOL. I'd chip in a couple of bucks to see a pic of someone, in class, wearing spandex and a cape. Normally for training we wear a t-shirt and sweats. I occasionally have people come in full battle regalia with BDUs and gun belt just so that have an idea how that extra 30 lbs of gear they have to wear on the streets effects their movement.

I agree that from time to time street clothing are a good idea...however it's kind of hard on the clothes..
Mixing other arts? Ummm Krav is a mixture of arts...what is wrong with adding to ones skill sets? Last I checked..some grappling is part of Krav.
I duno about you, but I am not going to grapple in my good jeans..at least not every week. I generaly wear a Krav t-shirt and black Gi pants. Works rather well.
