<<Well the little little kids like 4-9 or so I think can have as many patches as they can earn.
Ok, and you see (literally) no problem with that many patches
? If I understand the concept correctly (?) I regret that is a perspective I have tremendous trouble with...! How does one then prevent the pursuit of billboard/quiltish displays???
<<..it doesn't get ridiculously out of control... The little kids love the patches though.
By definition, needing another uniform solely in order to accomodate ones excessive patches....? (ie Not due to having become too small, not due to wear etc.) Forgive me, by definition I would submit that is the definition of ~completely out of control~... respectfully
Would they demonstrate XYZ behavior without the proverbial ~sticker~ approach??? Clearly one might extrapolate a parallel between colored belts being identical to patches in many respects, but I would contend that is a severely flawed parallel. The belts have a literal function, keeping the jacked closed. They provide a anatomical landmark (ie "kick ABOVE the belt..."). Whether used as an incentive or not, the belt is dignified ie... there is only ONE per person, common to all students, etc. I would contend it is a bad parallel at very best....
Merely my opinion, for whatever it might be worth,
J (Aware they like patches but not going to ~give in~
