uh.....can you say whoops. I was carrying mine for halloween concealed under my hakama. It was mainly for safety reasons but I also performed a quick mock battle for some candy. I also showed his parents!!!! I do live in PA but I'm only 13 and obviosly considered a minor. Gosh if they ban nunchucks why don't they inject me with morphine while they're at it.

Exactly how did you prove your point? The fact that you think they are "easier" to conceal than a sword or riffle isn't what makes them illegal. Nunchaku aren't illegal in every state but carrying them is. Owning a riffle isn't illegal either but if you tried to conceal one on your person you are breaking the law. I'm not sure but i believe it's illegal to carry a sword in public, concealed or not, in every state. You can however transport a sword in the proper case away from easy access (such as in a sword bag in your trunk) in most states. You’re kinda missing the point as to WHY nunchaku are illegal and to what extent they are illegal. Anything deemed as a weapon that is carried on your body but not visible to the naked eye is illegal unless you have a permit to carry it, even a baseball bat. It has a lot to do with the perceived intent of the object.

okay laf you are right i just asked my sensei and he had the same thought on the subject.i guess it does make more sense to be for intent of it than it does any other thing.sense intent covers a much broader area than anything i said .

don't know about the other areas you mentioned, but here in California, it is illegal to carry or sell such weapons. It is completely legal to own them, just don't carry it down the street or hide it on your person. When you transport them to the dojo, put them in a carrying case in the trunk, and tell the cop right away if he stops you. No problems.
