It has always been nunchaku.

Ignorant Americans mistakenly called it Numchucks, then Chucks & even Chucka sticks (even though it's a single object, it got a plural designation).

The inaccurate name spread faster than the correct name & now we have mass acceptance of an incorrect term. If you want proof, go to the source (Okinawa not Bruce Lee or XMA).

If you choose to persist in using a bastardized term, the only people who accept it are others of like ignorance. I challenge any of you to discuss "NUMCHUCKS" w/ Fumio Demura, the original expert responsible for introducing Kobudo to the US. Note his reaction & walk away w/ your tail tucked between your legs.

Maybe that it says "Dogpile" is trying to tell you something.

okay yes a with a gun or a sword it may be quicker to kill/mame someone but you must think okay nunchaku some are made of wood latched together with chain or even have metal handles but then on the other hand most nunchaku are made from wood or rattan and latched together with a cord kind of like a clothes line hmmm i wonder how many metal detectors are gonna pick up on those materials and also they are quite easily concealed in the small of your back and most friskings don't include that area so if you wanted to it is a very easy weapon to conceal which is illegal anyway i belive and also if you have ever accidently hit yourself with the nunchaku wether it be in kata or just trying to get the feel of them IT HURTS LIKE NOTHING ELSE I HAVE FELT!! especially on the "not so funny bone" just some things to ponder.

Your post included one period but contained probably close to 150 words. Next time use some grammar.

As for frisks not including the small of your back, this is wrong, and don't pretend like you know. The small of the back is a very popular area for concealed carry of small pistols and tactical knives (nonfolding). Almost every frisk by a police officer will include this area, or even if not, they are going to notice two big lumps on your back..

okay professer i will try to work on my puncuation!

however i have been searched many times(friend in jail just so you don't think i'm a repeat offender or something) and never had the officer go anywhere near my back. he stuck to arms, sides, legs and my pockets. and try to calm down man it's just a forum not a widely published book.sheesh!!!!

Proper frisking techniques DO include the small of the back. Just because the officer didn't touch the small of your back doesn't mean it wasn't observed. You are NOT going to hide two pieces of 10-12 inch wood in your belt and expect it to not be found. I'll tell you what, next time you visit your friend in jail try to get in with nunchaku stuck in your waist band. See where that gets you. You don't have to be patted down for someone to notice a weapon of this size in your waistband. Take it from someone who has been arrested more than a few times in the past and is now a member of military police, you are NOT going to hide nunchaku anywhere on your body that a cop isn't going to find it.

Laf is correct. When you have 10 inches of wood in your pants, people notice.
