This is Toshiaki Gillespie performing the Matsumura Orthrodox Chinto kata. You can compare it to the Hohen Soken Chinto on you tube and see the similarties.

This was from a Panther Video on kata Rohai-Gojushiho-Kusanku, Chinto and a bo form (from about 20 or so years ago). It also showed their application studies for each kata in part.

It would be most correct to ask Bryan Seer to comment on this kata.

personally I see it has the basic shape of Seito Matsumura system,

but is either performed very much with the begineer in mind (highly possible) or very badly in relation to the principles of the system.

Well since it is apparently from the old Panther series according to Victor Smith, then I guess the target audience would be beginners.

Question - What is wrong with it in regards to the principles? I am a long time martial artists who has trained off and on for years but I have very little familiarity with Matsumura Seito.

I would rathe rnot go into detail on that, on here as its just my opinion and it would be a vast job to do, no offence.

also I think its likely that the kata was done with the begineer in mind, and possibly not a specific audience re system, so it wouldn't be fair to pick into the kata without seeing more, and preferably face to face.

to my untrained eyes - The body mechanics look not much different than a Japanese version of Shorin ryu.
