Ok, I know chi is like, internal life force or sumthing, but I'm kinda skeptic, how does it work, I mean, every time someone ignores pain and act like it doesn't affect them, is that chi, and how do you suposedly, "gain" and "lose" chi?

The shaolin monks would go on alow horse stance for many hours breathing slowly and pushing down the stomache untill u feel the ball of chi in ur center abs. Chi is only real if you belive its real, it was even on the National Geographic channel. they show a 8th degree blackbelt martial artist knockout a oponent feets away without touching him. I think thats also in Dim Mak.

You need to make a shield of qi around your head when you read posts like these here!

Oy vey. For the last time, you CAN NOT knock someone out without touching them. No touch, sound KO's, etc., are NOT real.

the thing is that ki, chi, prana or whatever is not as mystical or mysterious as you think. Ki can basically mean many different things and there r many different kinds of ki. The most common definition of ki when using in a martial arts context is your breath. So when u r using ur ki in MAs , u r usually coordinating ur breath with ur movement or strengthening different parts of ur body with dynamic tension exercises combined with deep breathing(hard qigong). another common definition of ki is your life force or energy, but people who r more interested in energy arts for health(yoga or soft qigong) r usually more concerned with that. But as for physically affecting the environment with energy seems a little too far-fetched. I have to experience it for myself to believe that.

However, I did see something on Discovery Channel, which showed a monk raising his body temperature, and steaming wet clothes dry.
Weird!
I see no reason not to beleive it, and good reason to find valid explanations for it.

So are you saying that there is no use for your "life force" or "energy" within a martial context?

I am fairly sure that the non ridiculous claims of ki can be explained by body mechanics and internal generation of muscular strength.

I don`t know can it be proved but i know about this experiment Some scientists injected radioactive isotop or something in one of the meridians ,tracked it and saw that it didn`t move through the blood vessels but some other paths,i guess paths of chi.

And can you lose and gain chi or do you always have the same amount the you can strengthen or weaken?

the logical side of my brain percives chi to be more of a placebo, like if i told you its really hot in this room and started tuggin at my collar and did that kinda stuff soon enough you would start to thing its hot as well.
but the more open spiritual side believes that we do have a life force that can be harnessed and controlled.
i prefer my spiritual side.
i've also seen that thing where buddhist monks put freezing cold clloths around themselves and within 15 mins make the towels steam and the room is filled with a light steam. they then handed the towels out to the camera crew who felt them to check.

Strange, wasn't it?
Chi or no chi, it shows that humans can manipulate their various systems etc...

Sounds KOs are possible, but I don't think any human is able to produce a sound like that. Perhaps that 8th dan had a friend carrying something like this somewhere outside camera range.
I think chi is a placebo effect, but still placebos can be very effective.

Apparently the human body can generate enough heat to boil a kettle (so I've heard) and this is lost through the top of the head. Considering all the movement in the body, can chi not be considered like an electricity generated by friction in the body? This was, the exercises carried out by chi specialists (particularly where they stand still and don't expel the energy) lead to a build up of the power which when concentrated or channeled produces the 'chi' results?
Or am I just talking male moo moo poo?

(****Warning**** Do not read unless your a Rad-Ki, have patience, and don't mind bad grammar lol.) *Contains a very long story of how I practiced to control chi and such . When i first practiced i started to see it as white specs and then later to a grey mist. (upcoming small story lol) I wasnt sure if i was actually seeing it so i got my brother interested in it and he started seeing the same things so just bored i decided to tell to point at how far my aura whatever was extended and he could point to where i saw it, so then i imagined it expanding afew feet while keeping my eyes forward so he couldn't get any hints and told him to do it again and he found it again and one more time as big as the room and he said it was almost as big as the room so i decided it was real. (end of story lol) It took about a year to be able to do that. All i did was practice meditating and grounding about every other day with breathing excersises. Then i tried to picture the chi in my body and tried practicing the flow of it through my body. All of that for afew months. Then i practiced telepathy with my bro for a month but only a couple days aweek(guessing game of 1-10. We got so good at it that we had a 80% success rate but on the failures we got the second number right. When practicing u need to fine tune out what u want u want to think it is and tune into what it actually is. So now its been around 6months of all of the following. I practiced reading cards later and had a good amount of success (usually higher then 80%, I did alot of test and wrote them out and found the success rates and found out they were getting better the more i praciced) Now we have been doing this fora bout a year now, u could probably do that in 5months but it takes awhile to get a understanding of it, i had a few dreams doing these perfecting and woke up and each time i had one of these dreams it became way better. To me, all this came very gradually with those occaisonal major leaps. (almost done) So now its been over a year and a half and i haven't gotten any better. then i got interested in all the rad ki stuff. So i practiced forming ki balls lol. Sorta tried making those now and then very early on but without no luck. So I meditated for 2minutes, then grounded and following up with a breathing excercise, visualizing myself breathing chi throught the nose, circulating down into my stomach and condensing , then ending breathing out of my mouth with the chi staying in my stomach. Then I imagined it flowing up through my chest in a steady stream, into my arms and out the middle of my hands. When i did this i could see that grey mist coming out through my hand and just wraping around the middle ecstaticly. I tried focusing it into a ball and in about 15seconds i had a ball of grey mist between my hands. Later i stuck a piece of tape onto a piece of hair and hung it from the bottom of the table and formed the ball again but this time picturing it spin. After afew seconds the hair started to move and began to move around like a pendulum swinging in wide circles but staying just on the outside of the ball like it had some physical property. That ended about 2years later finished it up with practicing it on my brother once again and saw that the skin got a reddish look like a minor rash where i pictured it striking and this weird smell only produced when performing it on someones skin, sort of like a sickly sweet aroma. And thats basically all i had to do. I stopped afew years ago when i could shudder curtains from 20feet away and such. All in all, it was pretty fun. My brother achieved all that in about 8months so maybe age effects how well u can do cuz now i'm 17 and that was about 6years ago and i quit around 2 years ago and now i just have telepathy left, being able to see chi still and sometimes dreams that come true (ex: dreaming finding my dads cell phone lost for 3 weeks in a dream then in the morning finding it where i saw it in my dream (the car under a seat) i went straight to it lol so i got alittle extra out of it. So hey, its not time to put aside to try it but if my brother wasn't interested in it i probably would've never gotten that far. Good luck and have fun P.S. If you ever become that good don't stop practicing.

Why, thank you. I've often found the Malaysians to be both polite and hospitable too. Actually, I'm British but the Poles are very polite.
