Once when we were sparring in lines I slipped in my own sweat whilst doing a Spinning Hook Kick and kinda face butted someones elbow in the next line! Got me a black eye and a round of applause! I use Anti-perspirant now!

Don't feel too bad. I was using one of those pulley type stretch things that attatch to the ceiling, here's a pic if you don't know what I mean: http://cgi.ebay.com/Easy-SPLIT-training-...bayphotohostingAnyway...I pulled my stretching leg up quickly, and yanked my supporting leg right out from under myself. I had a tight grip on the rope, and hung there, suspended in the air wondering what the heck just happened. I didn't get to wonder very long, because the pulley, which wasn't meant to carry that much weight, let loose from the ceiling and dropped me to the floor, then bonked me on the head. My friend and his girlfriend were there and they about peed their pants from laughing. The only real injury was to my pride, but it was pretty damn funny.

We were sitting in line waiting to spar with our sensei. My name was called, and I eagerly hurried to get into position when I tripped over my own feet, slide across the mat and got up with a split lip (turns out I bit my lip during the fall). Needless to say, my sparring day was over.

Well, technically, you didn't quite KO yourself. The other person's knee helped. But, I can sympathisize. Back in 1986, when I was a red belt in TKD, I was sparring with one of the guys at the school after class, with the instructor sort of watching us. We were getting pretty heated, but it was still friendly, though on the intense side. At that time, I was enamaored of the axe kick, and I loved to put it to advantage when someone got out of position. My favorite way to use it was to do a crescent kick intro, to get the leg out and around the opponent, then bring it down in the axe-like motion the kick is named for.....
One problem: The crescent came up, and with the fighting adrenalie pumping, it did so a little too fast, a little too hard, and a little too high. Definitely a little too close to my nose. You can guess what happened.
Mr. Knee, you've met Mr. Nose, correct?
Dang thing bled all down the front of my uniform even before I could get out of the room and to the restroom for the quickest source of a towel-like substance to stop it with.....
So, while I didn't know myself out, I did manage to nearly kick myself in the face hard enough to break my own nose. Strange things happen sometimes, don't they...

This isn't strictly MA related but its as funny as hell. I have a friend whos brother jumped up in the air and his heels came upwards and he kicked himself in the nuts... i never thought it was possible... his brother managed to punch himself in the nose and make it bleed.... it must run in the family.

well, i haven't exactly done anything embarrassing MA-wise, other than getting winded through a kickpad, from the side :P buut, my most klutsiest (sp :P) moment was a few weeks ago...at school there is a big quadrangle, and in the middle is some big steps facing an outdoor stage...anyway, the steps are about ...1 1/2 feet high and wide each. well, our group sits/stands on the steps at lunchtimes... then bell rang, and of course, i go to step to the ground, by my heel misses the edge, and i go sumersaulting off the step onto concrete pavers...i managed to land feet first, but i then stumbled and tripped and landed on my stomach...no one laughed, but i swear, everyone in the school just stared at me, how embarrassing. I was lucky there was no training that afternoon (was cancelled) because my knees/hands/arms were grazed, and i was just generally sore -cough- [/ramble]

This one just seemed really funny to me.
Nothing really funny has happened to me so far. But this one time my friend was practicing his side kick on the bag. The next thing I know I hear a THUD! I looked over and he was lying down underneath the bag, and it was swinging back and forth. It was really funny.

At my Judo class I was sparring with the Adults (I'm 13) and I accidentally headbutted one of the Black Belts. He got annoyed and elbowed me in the face. I held my nose a second then asked him why he hit me. He thought I head butted him on purpose. I never got an apology.

that guy doesn;t deserve his black belt then. first off he should have apologised to you and second he deffinatley shouldn't have elbowed you in the face.
