I KO'd myself today. It's one thing to knock somebody else out but you have to be pretty talented to knock yourself out. We were sparring in class and I went to do a right leg cresant kick, left leg round kick then a right leg back kick but as I was coming around on the back kick a wave of pain went through my body from the muscle in my lower back I pulled doing who knows what last week. I coupled over but as I did the person was coming around with a round kick so my face hit their knee on the way down. I was only out for a few seconds but I felt pretty silly when I came to.

using a floor to ceiling speed bag, I went for a hook, but ended up hugging the bag as it made severe physical contact with my face. It seems that I drop my left guard too much.

Moral: Don't drop your guard, and if you want to hug a floor to ceiling speed bag, wait til it stops. Also, headbutts don't work if you try using your eye.

I must admit, KOing yourself is quite a rare talent. Try not to use it too often.

Don't feel to bad about this. I once sprayed myself with pepper spray while trying to escort someone out of a bar fight. I was doing a wrist lock and turned the cannister toward myself and accidentally sprayed myself directly in the face.

In another incident a friend of mine knocked out another police officer with a flash light while trying to break up a fight using a restraint hold.

Sh** happens! Hang in there.

I sliced my thumb to the bone drawing my katana in class- not a knock out but christ it was painfull, and created a blood soaked Gi- very 'Shogun assassin'

Trying to be a smarta$$ showoff, I was trying to knock over a Wavemaster with stepping through spinning back kicks, when I planted right into the bag as it was on its way back, and knocked myself flat on my back. Boy did I feel silly.

I kicked myself in the head once, and it left a bruise.
