Quote: Everybody has 2 hands and 2 feet, so how can there be different styles of fighting? Its just emphasis on what you use your hands and feet for. Better training is the key. Just pull some matrix moves and you're safe.
This gem of wisdom brought to you by Rayman452 the "Lockpicking Cadet".
There is a video on the net of this exact fight. Royce Gracie vs a 15 year Kung fu practitioner that is apparantly undefeated. The moral of that video was: 'It is almost impossible for a person trained in purely striking to not get wrapped up and taken down'
Royce even went easy on him.
HOWEVER a kung fu person who is more a complete fighter may defeat a BJJ practitioner and that fight will depend on those two individuals.
that was one of the earlier UFC, UFC2 or UFC3 i have to go back to my tapes, it also depend on if the kung fu man has done any ground work, and it also depend if the kung fu man good enough to stay on his feet, to many probabilities hard to tell.
Guys, Keep in mind (going back to the beginning of the thread) We are talking to a person who "knows" a couple of moves. Maybe he will be fortunate find a comensuretly skilled kung fu stylist and they can walk around each other for 15 minutes or so saying things like "Come on BEEOTCH" and "You don't know MEEEE". After that they can return to the hum drum routine of 200 channels of satalite tv.

No, it was a private formal challenge made to Royce or the video claims (it has one of his brothers commentating).

I agree. It has gone seriously off topic. For this reason, I am going to lock it down now. If someone seriously has a good reason to keep it open, PM me.
