hi,
i know some bjj moves myself and im wondering if i ever face an opponent who knows kung fu (which i hope not), who's more likely to come out of the battle and not ending up in a hospital.

LOL. Sounds like somebodys been challenged to a fight.

That question is impossible for any of us to answer. You know "some bjj moves", and you want us to predict your odds of beating some guy who might know kung fu.

Good luck with that.

One thing that we are not going to start on this forum is a BJJ vs *** discussion. Once we go there, it gets ugly.

Suffice it to say however, that the person who is best prepared, is able to seize the initiative, is able to follow through and has the best luck, will probably have the best chance at success. Read that however you want.

The better fighter will win.

I don't know your skill level or the skill level of another person. The best you can do is roll with this person and maybe learn something, win or lose.

You do not "know" any bjj "moves". You either train BJJ at a real academy or you don't. Period.

You never know. Often we see people with limited formal BJJ training who learned from tapes do quite well. With enough sparring time, I would not be surprised to see someone arrive at some of the same conclusions that a student of a BJJ BB does.

There could be a major time difference and some details might be missing, but overall, if you are testing what you are doing in an athletic, competitive environment, you are on the right track.

Everybody has 2 hands and 2 feet, so how can there be different styles of fighting? Its just emphasis on what you use your hands and feet for. Better training is the key. Just pull some matrix moves and you're safe.
