I'm just curious if anyone knows the chinese terms for these techniques: (mandarin, if possible)

Snap kick (aka Toe kick)
Turn kick
Crescent kick
Jumping crescent
Open hand cuts

you know, I have no idea about kicks come to think of it. I have never learnt the chinese name.

Open hand cuts i assume you mean chops?
Fat Sau

In Wing Chun

fut/fat sao - buddha palm
dui sao - chopping hand
gang sao - crossing/cutting hand

I'm actually familiar with the Wing Chun hand names.

My question was aiming more towards just the general terms. I guess an easier way to explain this would be that I'm looking for terms that I could use if I were to go to China. It'd be weird to go up to a Chinese guy and say "snap kick".

Here's the few mandarin terms I know, if it helps: (apologies for some of the phonetics)

Side kick - tsuh ti
Axe kick - pi tui
Front kick - chien ti (I suppose this could be a snap/toe kick?)

sifu father/teacher
Sigung teacher's teacher
Si dai junior brother
Kuen fist/punch
Kuen tao form (kata)
Da strike(hit)
Ma strance (horse)
Do knife
Gwan Pole
Gerk Kick

snap kick = sern tak
turn kick as in round house? = yern tak
cresent kick = ngau lim tak
jumping cresent = til ngau lim tak
open hand = need to be a bit more specific...
if its a block could be pak sao/ sat sao/ or if its a strike
could be dip jurn/shat geng sao
all above are cantonese...hope this helps..
