I used to be a big fan of the Japanese magna Lone Wolf and Cub.It tells a tale of a ronin named Ogami Itto and his son Diagoro;who choose to become assassins to earn money to present his case(where he was set up)before the shogun.His main enemies are the Yagyu clan,namely Retsudo Yagyu.It says in the books that Itto is a master of Suio Ryu.I was wondering if there is a Suio Ryu school of swordsmanship?Is it still practiced today?Did Ogami Itto really exist and if he did, did events transpire against him that way?Or are they invented? Just wondering.Thanks

I have trained with the Providence, Rhode Island Study group for the Suio Ryu. Very clean style. One cut, one victory kind of stuff. Very combative in application. The people behind the wheel of that club are very professional and a pleasure to deal with.
