Roo Stranger Registered: 05/22/05 Posts: 2 Loc: Vermont (via Boston)	Several years I took a lengthy, intensive self-defense course taught by campus and local police that was based in Krav Maga. It was amazing. I'd quite like to take some additional instruction, but am wary of the "McDojo" offerings. Does anyone have any suggestions for "vetting" a school or instructor? Is any one oversight organization better than the others? Are there particular affiliations I should look for? General guidance would be most appreciated. I'm on the VT/NH/MA border and frequently travel to Boston if anyone has any specific recommendations. Thanks much.

I have a buddy from that area who was down last weekend, and he was impressed with Krav, so we went on line and found a few locations. Try: http://www.kravmaga.com/massachusets.asp I would check out prospective locations and watch a class or two. Compare the dojo's and find the one that fits you for price and teaching style. _________________________ "If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough."

retzef Member Registered: 05/18/05 Posts: 43	Try and google the words "Isreali,Israel,Netanya,IDF,jewish,Hagganah,Hisardut, in addition to Krav maga......" Also every KM style school quotes "Imi Lichtenfeld" in their "about us or history section". The KM group in L.A. is trying to stop other KM organizations from using the name Krav Maga in the US and many Israelis that have moved to America teach under different names although they taught KM in the IDF. _________________________ So that we may walk in Peace.

I had been Googling just for Krav Maga, but this was turning up a lot of hits for places that seem to be a cafeteria offering of MAs. The additional keywords should be a help.
