I first came in contact with the term Yamate ryu through the writings of Bernie Lau an aikidoist who later trained with local aikijujutsu practitioners such as Lovret and Ibarra (and I believe Angier). Probably this practitioner has some connection to one of these people. It is a pretty generic sounding term. I think that all those people teach real waza but as for there lineage etc. I'll leave that up to people who know them better.

Hello modernwarrior,

I've studied with this group and at this dojo since August of 2000. Good people, good times. The best thing to do, is go watch a class and decide for yourself.
