You guys know about mixed martial arts organizations like the UFC, right? What do you think about wheelchairs in MMA. Of course, there would be some rule changes like: 1)Front tips(Tipping a fighter on to his belly) are illegal. Backward & Sideways tips are not. 2)When your opponet on the ground and/or has been tipped you must exit your chair All the other rules would stay the same. I finally found a school I study Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It's awesome I want to open doors for wheelchairs in the world of MMA. After I get a few BJJ competitions under my belt I'll make my fight tape and send to different MMA organizations in hopes that they'll add a wheelchair divison. Wish me Luck!!

I don't mean to be pessimistic but the chances of this happening are very very low. The idea of handicapped people beating on eachother is bound to offend someone.

Why not have a 48midget vs 1 lion fight again...( the lion won)
but seriously, this is a very good idea and you seem very dedicated to martial arts so good luck to you in bringing in a new sport..

Ever hear of the Special Olympics? Somehow I don't think that's right.... there's just something wrong about it.... I think South Park can put it in better words than me "...and you definitely know that 'were all going to hell for watching retarded kids racing against each other... Right you are Kip" or something to that extent.

Those are some pretty ignorant comments...I think his idea is very inspirational.Because someone is in a wheelchair dosnt make them any less of a person, except mayby in the eyes of a bigot. You can acomplish anything you want, some people just have to take a different path to accomplish it.For all you guys know you could easily end up in a wheelchair without warning. Then what? All the years of martial arts are down the drain?Well given your views on this guys aspirations I'd come to the conclusion that you'd quit.If your that petty and weak enough in mind to not believe in someone else then you would never be able to believe in yourself.

No one said anything about the handicapped being unable to accomplish anything they want... We just think the idea of handicapped fighting as entertainment is definitely going to attract the wrong kind of attention. What kind of crowd do you think is going to watch something like that?

This thread name sounds like a punchline to a joke.
It would never happen.

And why the hell not?
EVERYONE has a right to train in what they wan't.
Why should MMA be any different?...'Because its for hard boys only' And people with pysical handicaps can'not be 'hard'?
You idiot, of course they can.
Skinhound did a much better post than mine, just thought Id post to show I agree.
