I've been trying to find a suitable thing to carry all my arsenal of weapons and other stuff, and have finally settled on getting a hockey bag. [IMG][/IMG] At least I can carry it over one shoulder and not drop everything!!

It has a huge long pocket at the back which will take my 2 swords and at least 2 bokken plus my arnis sticks and a hanbo.

The front pockets are just the right size for tonfa, sai and nunchaku and my sparring gear and first aid kit. Plus it has another pocket for other small stuff like wallet and carkeys.

It won't fit the bo and jo but I can cope with that!

What does everyone else use?

the guys at my school use military issue duffle bags, it doesn't have any other pockets, but it will accomidate massive amounts of equipment ranging from mulan fans (folded of course) to bo staffs, spears, swords, chain whips, they can even put clothes in it no problem. the only thing is the longer weapons stick out of the top of the bags. is an example of it, I don't know what size it is.

coxne :

Many thanks for putting in a good word for this forum, so we finally got it!

I just tried to email Chris off the "contact" button and the email bounced. Do you have his correct email address so I can offer to moderate it??

Just wanted to congrt you on your new forum, looks nice and roomy in here Reiki.

Will pop in soon and get some controversial threads going soon. I'm thinking along the lines of "Can you project chi balls from wooden weapons?"

Well done on getting this forum though. As for carrying weapons: There used to be a sensei here in the UK, Tomio Otani; (real samurai decent) he used to turn up with his katana attached to his side concealed under his trenchcoat!

I'd like to have seen some yobs try and mug him on the London Underground!

Speak to you soon

Some of these may work pretty well provided you have a collapsible bo.

Reiki if you want a military duffle and can't find one in your area let me know and i'll pick one up at the NEX.

Thanks for the offer Lane, but I'm quite happy with my lovely new hockey bag apart from the fact that it doesn't take my bo. Its nice to be able to keep the gear in separate pockets so I can find it easily too. My chucks were always hiding in some obscure corner of my old bag.

I have several bo and none are the screw together type, I prefer a solid bit of wood, there's less to fall apart. [IMG][/IMG]

You might check out Bujin Design and (of course)

They make excellent equipment bags.

I have one of their bo bags that also has a number of compartments for sword/boken etc.

Hi Jane

I used a polythene ski case, it was extendable made of two parts where one slid inside of the other so it could be a variety of lengths and lockable this was useful when taking a variety of weapons abroad.

I can call a few of my friends and see what can be made for you. If you have an email, I can send you photos of bags made for me. I carry an arsenal. Bujin is run by Hiroshi Ikeda, there are others that can make custom bags also in my town locally. I've had a problem getting long bags made for 6' plus weapons. I will be researching more on the local upholster/seamstress people.
