Hi i am recently in confusion over Kurz, after reading his stuff I found that it sounded really good and scientically correct but i find it extremely difficult to disregard static stretching that, not exxaggerating at all pretty much every gym of any kind of martial art uses....doesnt work for getting kicks higher. So is he of truth of not???? I have personally noticed a substancial increase in flexiness but i practice both though all the classes i go to only use static stretches and they all seem to finally get to the correct level u can read up on his findings at http://www.stadion.com/column.html which i reccommend whether u have or havent heard of him ever before.

I dont have anything against his methods but I dont/haven't found anything wrong with static training. I know that it works and thats enough for me.

I discussed with an expert in kinesiology and he agreed that Kurz slightly over-critisized static strething. Short streches are not dangerous, for examples.

Personally, I do them both and not necessarily exactly how Kurz advocates. The difference is clear for me when compared to mere static stretching.

As for the usefulness of static stretching, Kurz never said they are not needed. His net site is made in commercial fashion to promote dynamic stretching FOR people that do ONLY static streches and dont't get the results that they could and even injure themselves.

I believe in Kurz's stuff and I sincerely recommend trying them for anyone. There is nothing to lose.
