Its me again, so I'll get right to it.
This summer I have a chance to try another art for 3 months and 3 months only. I'm a newcomer blackbelt in Kempo and 16 years old.
anyway, i need to find an art that'll get right to improving my fighting or grappling abilities rather than spend my only 3 months of training teaching me basic stuff i learned when i was a white belt (since i only get 3 months) I was thinking maybe kickboxing but i'm not sure, any advice?

Find a club local to you where you're going to be for the 3 months.

Go in and look at a couple of classes.

Talk to the instructor and explain what you want to do.

What you do next depends on the response you get. If he's receptive to your needs, go for it. If not, repeat the process at another club.

First I'd like to say that I am Dyslexic and am sorry about all the spelling errors.
It sounds like you have found a strong striking MA. You might want to look into a grappling style. No mater how good you get at punch kick you should have some knowledge of how to deal with someone that grabs you (this does goes both ways) Judo or Greco-Roman wrestling are good giving you the basics in short order ie: 3 mounts.

I would consider jujitsu or aikido. If you find the right instructor, it could compliment what you already know. Like John says, you will need to explain to the instructor what you are after. A good one would be happy to help.

For 3 months only?

Judo, you get stuck in straight from the beginning - no messing about.

It is alive, you have to do it with an opponent, you can't do anything by itself plus its cheap!

Sorry Sharon although I agree that Jujitsu wouldn't be a bad idea - 3 months in Aikido and you will have learnt pretty much nothing - I mean it takes 10 years + just to get a dan grade you could get a karate Blackbelt in 3!

wow, i didn't expect this post would get replies 2 months after i posted it

thanks for all your advice. However, a while a go i was pleasantly surprised that my Kempo instructor has also studied brazillian jiujitsu and was willing to teach me that for free. Plus, sense it is free I am able to continue the lessons permanently instead of just for 3 months.

Once again, thanks for all your input.
